Using a donation tracker, a running total

A donation tracker is an on screen indicator that shows how close a streamer is to a set goal. Donator is Georgia's first and best streaming donation platform, in official partnership with TBC and Bank of Georgia. This guide shows how to set one up and use it effectively.

What a donation tracker is and why it works

The tracker shows the current amount and the goal on stream, for example toward a new microphone or a charity drive. Viewers see that their donation is moving a real, tangible goal forward.

Visible progress creates extra motivation. When the bar is almost full, viewers join in more often to finish the shared goal together.

How to set up the tracker in OBS

The tracker is added in OBS as a Browser Source layer, just like an alert. You add the link once as a separate source and it updates automatically with every new donation.

Place the tracker where it does not cover your content, for example in a lower corner of the screen. A clean, clear layout helps viewers read progress at a glance.

Setting a goal and linking the tracker to donations

Set a realistic goal and tell viewers what the money is for. A concrete goal, such as equipment or an event, drives more engagement than a vague number.

The tracker works together with a Donator donation: viewers pay with any card, Georgian or foreign, the alert appears instantly on stream, and the amount is paid out in GEL to a Georgian bank, TBC or Bank of Georgia.

Best practices and a comparison with foreign tools

Refresh the goal once it is reached so the tracker stays live and current. A finished, unchanging bar removes the incentive for viewers to engage.

Many foreign tools, such as DonationAlerts or Streamlabs, offer a tracker, but often need a foreign wallet and do not pay out in GEL to a Georgian bank. Donator is built on a partnership with TBC and Bank of Georgia, so both the tracker and the payout live in one Georgian system.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate program for the tracker?
No. The tracker works through the Browser Source built into OBS, just like an alert, no separate installation is required.
Can I run an alert and a tracker at the same time?
Yes. The alert and the tracker are two separate layers in OBS and they run in parallel without interfering with each other.
Is the tracked amount paid out in GEL?
Yes. The tracker only shows progress, while the real amount is paid out in GEL to a Georgian bank, minus a small platform fee.
How do I choose a good goal?
Choose a concrete, achievable goal, such as equipment or an event, and tell viewers what the money is for.
