Al-Nassr vs Al-Wasl AFC Champions League Match Postponed

Match Postponed

The AFC Champions League Elite matchup between Al-Nassr and Al-Wasl, scheduled to be played in Riyadh on Monday, has been postponed.

The Asian Football Confederation cited logistical considerations and current developments in the region as the reason for the postponement.

Background of Al-Nassr and Al-Wasl

Al-Nassr, based in Riyadh, is currently second in the Saudi Pro League with 25 points and has won four consecutive matches across all competitions.

Al-Wasl, from the United Arab Emirates, has been in impressive form, winning five of their last six matches and sitting third in the UAE Pro League with 13 points.

The two sides have met four times previously, with Al-Wasl losing their last three encounters, including a 4-0 defeat in the AFC Champions League Two in April this year.

Impact on Al-Hilal

Al-Hilal's board is unhappy after Al-Nassr's match with Al-Wasl was postponed, citing similar circumstances for their own match with Al-Sadd that was denied a postponement.

Al-Hilal's request to postpone their own match was rejected, with the club told to travel by land and face penalties for withdrawing from the tournament.
