What this is

The free catalogue holds dozens of courses: Linux fundamentals, an introduction to Kubernetes, DevOps practices, the legal side of open source. Each ends in a completion certificate carrying the foundation's name.

The distinction to hold on to: these are courses, not CKA or CKAD. Those certifications are paid. The one free route to them is the LiFT scholarship, whose next window is April 2027 and which covers both the course and the exam.

Who it is for

Anyone who needs Linux and Kubernetes and is looking for the free step on the way to certification.

How to get it

  1. 1Open Linux Foundation and create a free account. No card is asked for at any point.
  2. 2Work through the material, ~40 h in total. It is self-paced, so the time is yours to spread.
  3. 3Complete every module. The document is issued on completion, not on an exam result.
  4. 4Download the certificate as a PDF and keep the verification link, which is what an employer actually checks.

From Georgia

training.linuxfoundation.org is open and the free courses ask for no card.

What to watch for

What is free is the course, not the paid exam. If you want CKA, either wait for the LiFT window or budget for it.

Where this helps

Live remote vacancies in the same direction. You apply on the employer's own site; the board itself is written in Georgian.
