Free certificates

Free online certificates you can actually get from Georgia

108 certificates where the document itself is free, not merely the course. Every row was checked on the provider's own page: a row is listed only when no card is asked for and access from Georgia is not restricted.

Time-limited routes

These are normally paid exams with a temporarily free or nearly free route to them. After the date, the route closes.

Advertised as free, and is not

  • Alison

The course is free, the certificate is not: roughly €21-26, and €34-37 for a diploma. What you get for free is a Learner Record, which is a transcript rather than a certificate.

  • Coursera Financial Aid

No longer a guaranteed 100%. When approved it is a 50-100% discount that also depends on your location. You apply per course rather than per specialisation, and a decision takes up to 16 days.

  • UN CC:Learn

Since July 2026 the certificate is paid: $10-30 depending on the course. The courses stayed free, the PDF did not. Of 66 courses only a couple still issue a free certificate.

  • ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity

The One Million Certified in Cybersecurity programme closed to new entrants on 20 May 2026. The exam now costs $199. Anyone who claimed a voucher earlier can still sit it until 31 December.

  • Google AI Essentials

Not free, despite dozens of blog posts. Coursera's own FAQ states plainly that the course cannot be taken for free. Audit access gives you neither the graded work nor the certificate.

  • DeepLearning.AI

At the free tier you get the videos only. The certificate and the Accomplishment record sit behind the paid Pro subscription, and the short courses issue no certificate at all.

  • NVIDIA DLI

Some courses are free, but the certificate is attached to the paid ones ($30-90). NVIDIA's paid certifications run $125-500 and require government-issued photo ID.

  • Microsoft Virtual Training Days

The free exam voucher is gone: attending now earns a 50% discount applied at Pearson VUE checkout, valid for 90 days.

  • GitHub Student Developer Pack

The free exam voucher in the 2025-26 cycle expired on 30 June 2026. Historically a new cycle opens at the end of September, so it is worth re-checking periodically.

  • Meta Blueprint

The training is free, the official exam is about $99. The two are routinely confused.

  • Great Learning Academy

The page title says free certificate; their own FAQ says the certificate is issued after completing the course and paying the fee. The fee only appears at the end.

  • edX and FutureLearn

The material is free, the certificate is not. edX financial aid is an 80% discount, so a card is still needed. FutureLearn's free access is limited to the course duration plus 14 days.

  • ISTE certification

$825 for an individual. The organisation merged with ASCD and the old brand no longer exists.

  • Moodle and Canvas

Moodle Academy issues free badges, but certification costs €200: collecting all six badges does not make you certified. Canvas Certified Educator is $250 per course.

  • Duolingo English Test

The app is free, the test is $70. Discount vouchers are not issued to individuals: only through a school counsellor, a partner university or an NGO.

  • Cambridge and British Council free tests

Both state themselves that these are not official exams and cannot serve as proof of language level. No certificate is issued at all.

  • SOLIDWORKS CSWA

The free voucher only comes with a purchased student licence, an accredited institution or a company contract. There is no accredited provider in Georgia, so no free route exists.

  • IATA

There is no free IATA certificate. Sites promising a free IATA-certified course issue their own document, not IATA's.

  • Upwork Skill Certification

The programme stopped accepting new candidates in 2024 and remains closed. The Rising Talent and Top Rated badges require identity verification, which costs 35 Connects, meaning real money.

How these certificates are checked

On this market the word free almost always refers to the course and not to the document. The usual arrangement is that the studying really does cost nothing, and then, once you have spent twenty hours, the certificate costs $20 to $70. So there is one condition for being on this list: the price of the certificate itself has to be zero.

Every row is checked on the provider's own page rather than in blog posts. That matters because a free offer expires: in 2026 the ISC2 free cyber security programme closed, UN CC:Learn started charging for certificates, and the Google Certified Educator exam went the other way and became free. The date on each row is there for exactly that reason.

Why each row says what the document is worth

A vendor certification and a completion paper from a course marketplace look identical as PDFs, and are two different things to a recruiter. The names Google, Cisco, IBM, Oracle and HubSpot are recognised; the name of a course platform usually is not. So every row states whether it is a strong brand or a weak signal, and the rare cases where the qualifying exam itself is free are marked separately.

Availability from Georgia

Georgia is on no major vendor's restriction list: the recurring exclusions in the AWS and Microsoft terms are Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia and Crimea. The real barrier is not geography but the card, which is why this list only holds rows that need no card at all. Where a country or status restriction does exist, it is written on the row itself.

If you are taking a certificate for a specific job, the remote vacancies section shows which directions employers who hire from Georgia are actually recruiting for. That section is written in Georgian.

Frequently asked questions

What does free mean on this list?

That the document itself, the certificate or the badge, is issued at zero cost. That is not the same as a free course: the most common arrangement on this market is exactly the one where the studying is free and the certificate costs $20-70 at the end. Platforms that work that way are not listed as certificates here, they are in the warnings block.

Do I need a bank card?

One condition for being on this list is that no card is asked for, neither for payment nor for identity verification. The few exceptions are marked individually, for example time-limited offers where one exam is paid and the next one is free after it.

Are these certificates available from Georgia?

Yes. Georgia appears on no major vendor's restriction list: the recurring exclusions in the AWS and Microsoft terms are Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia and Crimea. Where a country restriction does exist it is written on that specific card.

Which free certificate actually counts with an employer?

The one issued by the vendor itself or by a recognised institution: Google, Microsoft, Cisco, IBM, Oracle, HubSpot, Harvard's CS50. A completion paper from a course marketplace is a weak signal and we mark it as one. That is why every card states what weight the document carries.

What is the difference between an exam, a certificate and a badge?

Exam means the qualifying exam itself is free too, which is the rarest and most valuable case. Certificate means a document for completing the course. A badge is a digital mark, usually on Credly, that attaches to LinkedIn rather than arriving as a PDF.

How often is this list checked?

Every row carries the date it was checked. A free offer is the kind of thing that expires: in 2026 the ISC2 free cyber security programme closed, the UN CC:Learn certificate became paid, and the Google Certified Educator exam went the other way and became free. The provider's own page always has the last word.

Does a certificate replace a degree or a professional licence?

No. A free certificate shows that you taught yourself a specific tool or subject. It is not academic credit, it is not a medical or legal licence, and in most cases it does not count towards Georgian credit points either. On a CV it works as evidence of initiative and of one concrete skill.

How do I use a certificate when applying for a job?

Add it to the certifications section on LinkedIn together with the verification link, and mention it next to the skill it proves. Many weak certificates work worse together than two strong ones: a list of ten completion papers tells a recruiter you were taking courses rather than doing the work.
