What this is

MongoDB University covers the document model, aggregation, indexes and running Atlas. Taking the courses and claiming the badge costs nothing, and the practice runs on a free Atlas cluster.

Full certification is a separate, paid step, though students get a $150 voucher through the GitHub Student Pack. So for a student there is a fully free route here, and for everybody else a free route up to badge level.

How to get it

  1. 1Open MongoDB and create a free account. No card is asked for at any point.
  2. 2Work through the material, ~30 h in total. It is self-paced, so the time is yours to spread.
  3. 3Complete every module. The document is issued on completion, not on an exam result.
  4. 4Claim the badge and attach it to your LinkedIn profile, with the verification link.
