DevOps Engineer Location: Remote (Europe-based preferred) Type: Full-time Industry: Digital Health, SaMD, DTx Reports to: Head of Engineering Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to help us scale and secure our cloud-native infrastructure across regulated digital health products. The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on experience in infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security within a healthcare or similarly regulated domain.

This is a mission-critical role at the intersection of technology, compliance, and patient impact. Key Responsibilities

* Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based / serverless infrastructure (AWS/GCP/AZURE) for scalable deployment of SaMD solutions.

* Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, high-quality delivery of Newel Health ’s digital therapeutics and backend services.

* Collaborate with product, engineering, and QA teams to ensure continuous integration aligns with regulatory requirements (ISO 13485, IEC 62304, GDPR, HIPAA).

* Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices using Terraform or similar tools.

* Configure infrastructure policies and controls (e.g. network, access control, backup) promoting confidentiality, integrity, availability of information managed in transit and at rest

* Monitor system performance, security, and availability, with an emphasis on patient safety, data protection, and uptime.

* Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and resolution for production infrastructure issues.

* Support audit readiness and documentation for MDR/CE, DiGA, and FDA-compliant deployments.

* Integrate DevSecOps tools and workflows to proactively identify and mitigate risks.

Required Qualifications

* 4+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or site reliability engineering (SRE), ideally in health tech or a regulated environment.

* Proficiency in AWS, GCP, or Azure, and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and Serverless.

* Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch).

* Solid grasp of cybersecurity principles and hands-on experience with security hardening and compliance (ISO 27001, SOC2, etc.).

* Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash) and familiarity with REST APIs, databases, and microservice architecture.

* Knowledge of healthcare data standards and privacy regulations is a strong plus (FHIR, HL7).

* Experience with development in compliance with IEC 62304 is a plus.

* Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
