Big Brother Airs One Hour at 9 p.m. ET After Dolly Tribute

The CBS reality competition "Big Brother" airs for one hour on Sunday, Aug. 30, which the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel notes is the regular length for Sunday episodes.

The start time moves back an hour. Instead of 8 p.m. ET, the episode begins at 9 p.m. ET, according to Just Jared and DraftKings Network.

The 8 p.m. slot goes to an hour-long tribute special, "Remembering Dolly: A Rhinestone Life," honoring country music singer Dolly Parton. Parton died at the age of 80 on Tuesday, Aug. 25, after what the sources describe as a brief battle with cancer.

The Medieval Twist

Sunday's hour is season 28's episode 26, and it covers an unusual week inside the house. DraftKings Network reports that host Julie Chen-Moonves announced at the end of the show's 1,000th episode that there would be no Head of Household competition, no Power of Veto and no BB Blockbuster this week, but that someone would still be eliminated before the next live eviction.

The Journal Sentinel reports that the remaining houseguests are going back in time to the year 1,000 and to medieval times for the twist, and that ten houseguests will become nine in a single night. The 1,000th episode, which aired Thursday, looked back at the show's history and earned a couple of Guinness Book of World Records entries in the process.

The episode opens with the fallout from the previous eviction. Mallory was voted out 6-2 after Drew won the BB Blockbuster and removed himself from the block, leaving Mallory and Taylor as the final nominees, DraftKings Network reports. Only Barrett and Melody voted to keep her.

Live Feeds and Where to Watch

The sources disagree on the round-the-clock live feeds. The Journal Sentinel and Just Jared both say the feeds were switched off over the weekend and then came back on unexpectedly on Saturday evening, Aug. 29, even though Chen-Moonves had said they would stay off until after Sunday's episode. DraftKings Network says the feeds have been dark since Thursday and will remain off through Sunday's episode because of the twist.

The episode is on CBS. The Journal Sentinel says "Big Brother" episodes can be watched on Paramount+ with a premium plan, while DraftKings Network says the episode will be available to stream on Paramount+ the following day.

Houseguests Still in Play

Just Jared lists the contestants who were still in the house just before the feeds were shut off: Dee Valladares, Barrett Pfeiffer, Drew Campbell, Haley Thogmartin, Angela Murray, Rick Devens, LaTrice Verrett, Melody Morris, Taylor Brown and Yash Patel.

One of them has already been eliminated over the weekend, and the sources do not say who. That name is due to be revealed during Sunday's episode.
