Scheffler Nearly Aces 2nd Hole in Tour Championship Chase

The Near Ace at East Lake
Scottie Scheffler nearly holed his tee shot on the par-3 second hole during the final round of the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, USA TODAY reported.
The hole measures 211 yards. Scheffler's ball finished within inches of the cup, and he tapped in for birdie to reach 13 under par for the tournament.
Scheffler, the world's No. 1 ranked player, began the day three strokes off the lead. According to USA TODAY, he knew he needed a fast start to close that gap.
The Leaderboard
Viktor Hovland held a one-stroke lead over Ryan Gerard at the start of Sunday's play. USA TODAY listed Scheffler as one of four players sitting three shots back.
The Tour Championship is the season-ending event on the PGA Tour. It is being broadcast by CBS, with earlier coverage on the Golf Channel.

Fatherhood and the Double Life
Away from the course, Scheffler is a husband and a father of two children under the age of three, OutKick reported. His sons are named Bennett and Remy, and his wife is Meredith Scheffler.
Speaking to reporters before the Tour Championship, Scheffler was asked whether it was humbling that his home life sometimes affects his golf. OutKick quoted him as saying humbling was "probably not exactly how I felt," and describing his situation as "almost like a double life essentially."
OutKick also reported that after the final round in St. Louis, Scheffler said he had played through the BMW Championship while dealing with hand, foot and mouth disease, a common childhood illness, and the painful blisters it causes.
