Taylor Delivers in ALDS

Grant Taylor’s clutch performance in the American League Division Series (ALDS) has kept the Chicago White Sox on track for the American League Championship Series. In the second game of the series against the Cleveland Guardians, Taylor pitched 1 1/3 innings, striking out six batters and recording seven strikes in just seven pitches.

Jo Adell’s home run attempt in the eighth inning was narrowly kept out of the park by a long, loud triple, while Nathaniel Lowe’s line drive was deftly caught by Sam Antonacci. Taylor’s perfect execution of his four-pitch arsenal helped preserve a 2-0 lead for the White Sox, securing the victory.

Taylor's Pitching Record

Since the playoffs began, Taylor has been a key player, showcasing his ability to handle high-pressure situations. He threw a career-high 54 pitches in Game 1 of the Wild Card Series against the Houston Astros, and followed up with a 42-pitch, four-inning save in the first game of the ALDS against Cleveland. These performances have not only kept the White Sox in contention but also hinted at his potential as a starter in the future.

Manager Stephen Vogt acknowledged the challenge of facing Taylor, stating, 'I thought our at-bats off Taylor were really good, just didn't get anything to fall.'
