O'Connor Takes Personal Leave

The Colorado Avalanche announced on Thursday that Logan O'Connor, a right winger for the team, will be taking time away to be with his family following the sudden passing of his father, Myles, who played in the NHL in the 1990s.

O'Connor had been recovering from a lower-body injury and was close to making his 2026-27 season debut. However, he will now focus on personal matters as the team honors Myles during their game.

Myles O'Connor's Career

Myles O'Connor, Logan's father, was a defenseman who played for the New Jersey Devils and the Anaheim Mighty Ducks between 1990 and 1994. He appeared in 43 NHL games, scoring three goals and four assists.

After his NHL career, Myles played in the IHL and Japan before retiring in 1998. He also ran O'Connor's, a multi-generational clothing store in Calgary, Alberta, which has been in operation since 1958.
