Call for Better Batting Rotation

West Indies bowling coach Ravi Rampaul has urged his team to avoid losing wickets in clusters and to rotate the strike to counter India's spin attack in the upcoming T20I series.

In the first game of the series, the West Indies team struggled, losing wickets in clusters and ultimately being bowled out for 171 in 19.1 overs. India's spinners, led by captain Shreyas Iyer, dominated the game, chasing down the target in just 14.4 overs and taking a 1-0 lead.

Rampaul highlighted the importance of better batters such as Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer batting longer into the innings to put up challenging scores. He also admitted that his young bowling lineup lacks experience, with most players having played fewer than 15 or 20 T20 internationals.

Young Bowling Line-Up Challenges

Rampaul expressed frustration with the execution of plans by his bowling unit, stating that the pressure of playing against India's strong batting line-up requires adaptability from his players.

The West Indies bowling attack struggled in the first game, with Matthew Forde conceding 39 runs from two overs and Shamar Springer failing to make an impact. Akeal Hosein, who finished with 1/37, was the most economical of the frontline bowlers but could not prevent India's comfortable chase.
