The Toss in Dubai

Hong Kong captain Natasha Miles won the toss and chose to bowl first against India in a Women's T20 Asia Cup 2026 group match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates, Mid-Day reported.

Miles said the conditions suited the decision. "Very confident with our batting lineup to come out here and chase down any score," she said, adding that an average score at the ground had been around 120 to 130 and that keeping India to 140 or 150 would give her side a chance.

She named two changes, saying she was coming in for Dorothea and that Iqra Sahar was also included. Miles also marked Alison Siu playing her 100th Twenty20 international, calling her a spearhead of the Hong Kong attack for many years.

How Both Sides Reached This Match

India opened Group A with a 94-run win over Thailand, according to SportsAdda. India were 91 for 2 before finishing on 159 for 9, losing seven wickets for 46 runs on August 30.

Shafali Verma made 64 from 36 balls with eight fours and three sixes, her 19th T20 international fifty. Smriti Mandhana was run out, Suleeporn Laomi took 3 for 26 with leg spin, and Pratika Rawal, Harmanpreet Kaur and Bharti Fulmali all got starts without going on.

India's bowlers then dismissed Thailand for 65 in 16.1 overs. Deepti Sharma took 3 for 0 in her 150th T20 international.

Hong Kong lost their opener to Thailand by six runs on August 28, chasing 121 and finishing on 114 for 7. Marina Lamplough took 4 for 11 and hit 22 from 11 balls, while Kary Chan top-scored with 28 from 20.

The Group Picture

SportsAdda reported that India led Group A on two points with a net run rate of 4.700, with Pakistan second on two points, Thailand third and Hong Kong bottom without a win. Two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals.

The same publication said India face Pakistan in Dubai on Saturday, describing that fixture as the one the group turns on. It framed the Hong Kong match as a chance for India's middle order to spend time batting before then, given the collapse against Thailand.

The match was listed as starting at 8:00 PM Indian Standard Time, live on Sony Sports Ten 1 and streaming on Sony LIV. The sources do not report the result, India's team changes or the final score, so those details are not yet known from this reporting.
