Match Preview
Al-Ahli, the Jeddah side, will travel to face Al-Fateh in the eighth round of the Saudi Roshn League on Friday, October 9 at 14:00 GMT.
The match will take place at the Meydan First Finance Stadium in Al-Ahsa. Al-Ahli’s Dutch head coach, Marino Pusic, has rested Saudi national team stars, including Saleh Abu Al-Shamat and Firas Al-Buraikan, who were crucial in winning the Arabian Gulf Cup 27. Injuries to Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and Brazilian defender Roger Ibanez further weaken the Ahli lineup.
Al-Fateh's New Coach and Recent Performance
Al-Fateh, currently sixth in the table with 12 points, enters the match under new Moroccan head coach Jamal Sellami. Sellami takes over from Khalid Al-Atwi, who was recently sacked. Al-Fateh has only picked up three draws and lost four matches in the current campaign, still searching for their first win.
Kennedy Boateng, a Togo international who signed a two-year deal with Al-Fateh in August, has set his sights on an important win against Al-Ahli, calling for fan support to drive the team to victory.
