Shaun Wright-Phillips Struggles in Strictly Come Dancing
Former Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips faces elimination fears as bookies tip him to be next out of Strictly Come Dancing.
Shaun Wright-Phillips' Strictly Come Dancing Struggles
Shaun Wright-Phillips, the former Manchester City winger who now competes on Strictly Come Dancing, is facing elimination pressures. Bookies currently favor him as the next contestant to be eliminated, despite his survival of the first dance-off.
In an interview with City Xtra, Wright-Phillips compared the pressure of performing on Strictly Come Dancing to that of playing in front of the Maine Road crowd. He expressed that the Strictly judges are more unfamiliar and critical, making the performance more challenging.
Bookie Odds and Recent Performances
Despite his recent improvement, Wright-Phillips remains in the firing line according to bookies. Ladbrokes and William Hill list him as the favorite to be the next contestant to be eliminated, with odds of 7/4 and 6/4 respectively. Melanie Walters and Sarah Storey follow closely behind.
Wright-Phillips opened the series with a cha-cha that drew a score of just 15, and he is still working to build his confidence. His Salsa to Saturday Night Fever during Movie Week improved his standing, but he continues to face challenges on the dance floor.
