We are seeking a technical leader to collaborate closely with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and lead the development of our intelligence layer—a system that enhances our market visibility.

This is not a role focused on quantitative analysis or data reporting. It’s also not about academic research for research’s sake.

This is a Human-in-the-Loop AI role: crafting the tool that enables human traders to process 100 times more information without sacrificing intuition, discretion, or speed.

This position is central to our competitive edge in the market.

The Challenge

Markets are complex and often noisy. Alpha comes from synthesizing information effectively. While we already have access to data, the bottleneck lies in human bandwidth.

Too much time is currently spent:

- Manually refreshing data feeds - Analyzing irrelevant information - Manually combining signals from various sources

Even a small reduction in latency can significantly impact our insights.

The Objective

Our goal is to build the firm’s nervous system, from data ingestion to decision-making. You will oversee:

- Ingestion and preprocessing of diverse data - Leveraging AI for research and analysis - Filtering out noise to ensure traders focus on what truly matters

Your mandate is straightforward: reduce the time it takes to turn data into actionable insights across the entire trading operation.

For example, if you can surface a signal 10 minutes faster than the market, we win. If you can automate away four hours of manual reading, our capacity doubles.

The Responsibilities

1. Data Pipelines (Eliminate the “F5” Key) - Design and maintain automated systems that ingest, clean, and normalize: - News, financial filings, earnings calls, and macroeconomic data - Social media sentiment and alternative data - Implement push-based alerts that surface only relevant information, directly linked to: - Watchlists - Live trading positions - Risk exposure - Ensure reliability, minimal latency, and seamless updates.

2. AI-Augmented Research (A Live Analyst on the Desk) - Deploy AI-driven systems to summarize, extract, and compare financial documents and internal notes. - Develop natural language query tools that allow traders to access proprietary research effortlessly. - Examples include: - Summarizing the bear case from the last three earnings calls - Analyzing asset behavior during specific macroeconomic events

3. Signal & Noise Filtering (Protect Attention) - Build filters to prioritize critical information: - Sentiment and relevance scoring - Entity recognition mapping events to relevant exposures - Dashboards highlighting key regimes, anomalies, and dislocations

4. Infrastructure, Security, and Reliability (Own the Stack) - Own the technical infrastructure that runs our intelligence system: - Cloud or local GPU infrastructure - Vector databases and retrieval systems - Data privacy-first architectures - Ensure robust, fast, and secure systems with minimal downtime.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a founder-hacker with experience:

- Building your own projects and trading your own account - Working in high-stakes environments such as startups, prop shops, or family offices - Disliking bureaucratic processes and preferring tools that are used immediately

You are proficient in:

- Python (Pandas, NumPy) - AI architectures like LLMs and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) - Prompting, evaluation, and handling AI failure modes - Vector databases (Pinecone, Milvus, FAISS) - Orchestration tools (LangChain, Airflow, custom agents) - REST and WebSocket APIs (market data, news, internal tools) - Lightweight internal UIs (Streamlit, Dash, Retool)

You understand the difference between a demo and a production system, prioritizing performance and reliability.

You are market-savvy, understanding that financial data can be messy, adversarial, and time-sensitive. You make informed decisions under uncertainty.
