About this job

Role Title: Specialist in Condensed Matter Physics (Magnetic Materials) Role Type: Freelance Location: Flexible

micro1 is seeking Specialists in Condensed Matter Physics (Magnetic Materials) to participate in groundbreaking research that delves into magnetic space groups, neutron scattering, BNS notation, and the physical manifestations of magnetic order. This role involves leveraging your expertise to assist in training advanced AI systems. Your contributions will influence how these models learn, reason, and perform through the use of high-quality, practical data. No prior experience in AI is necessary; your domain knowledge is key.

Responsibilities

* Examine and interpret magnetic structure factors, employing propagation-vector techniques and sophisticated symmetry principles from condensed matter physics.

* Recognize and categorize magnetic phases (AFM, FM, and others) using both theoretical and experimental data, including neutron diffraction outcomes.

* Compile and confirm magnetic space group designations, referencing well-established databases such as MAGNDATA, ensuring a strong alignment with BNS notation standards.

* Assess birefringence and magneto-optic Kerr effect (MOKE) indicators for specific materials, linking optical phenomena to the underlying magnetic structure.

Qualifications

* A robust educational background (PhD or equivalent research experience) in condensed matter physics, with a focus on magnetism or related areas.

* Expertise in magnetic structure factor computations, propagation-vector analysis, and symmetry-based phase identification.

* Practical experience in classifying magnetic space groups, with firsthand knowledge of MAGNDATA and BNS notation.

* In-depth understanding of neutron scattering methods for determining magnetic structures.

* Capability to link experimental features (such as birefringence, MOKE) to underlying physical processes.
