micro1 is seeking Specialists in Theoretical Physics (Statistical Physics / Quantum Information / Condensed Matter) to collaborate on a project bridging theoretical physics with AI research and numerical benchmarking.
In this role, you will leverage your deep expertise to assist in the development of next-generation AI systems. Your work will influence how models learn, reason, and function based on high-quality, practical data. No prior AI experience is necessary; what matters is your strong background in the specified areas.
Scope of Work
- Examine and offer insightful analysis on complex statistical physics phenomena, concentrating on replicated random-bond Ising/Ashkin-Teller models, the toric-code threshold, and the Nishimori line. - Present clear, well-documented resolutions or critiques of issues related to Kramers-Wannier duality, quenched disorder averaging, square-lattice self-duality, and domain-wall free energy. - Engage in sophisticated numerical analysis, particularly concerning 4-state Potts model simulations and interpretation. - Pinpoint, discuss, and address technical difficulties involving noncontractible loop defects and related topological characteristics. - Contribute as a Solver, Auditor, or Adjudicator on specific project tasks, depending on your experience and subfield expertise.
Desired Qualifications
- A robust educational background (PhD or equivalent) in physics, with a focus on statistical physics, quantum information, or condensed matter theory. - Practical experience applying Kramers-Wannier duality, quenched disorder averaging, and square-lattice self-duality in research or project contexts. - Strong proficiency in numerical simulations involving the 4-state Potts model and the analysis of domain-wall free energy. - Knowledge of topological quantum codes, particularly the toric code and its threshold phenomena.
