micro1 is seeking Adolescent Substance Use Specialists to evaluate cases of adolescent substance use and provide clinical guidance on risk, severity, and appropriate responses for a customer project. This role involves leveraging your expertise to assist in training advanced AI systems. Your work will contribute to how models learn, reason, and perform by providing high-quality, real-world input. Previous experience in AI is not necessary; what matters is your domain knowledge.

Scope of Work

- Analyze clinical case materials detailing adolescent substance use and document comprehensive assessments of risk, severity, and the urgency of interventions. - Utilize recognized frameworks such as DSM-5 SUD and ASAM to stage the severity of substance use and recommend the appropriate level of care. - Assess the safety and clinical suitability of proposed and alternative interventions, including relevant pharmacological options. - Differentiate between developmentally normal substance use experimentation and clinically significant patterns of use in youth. - Recognize and highlight withdrawal, overdose, and safeguarding risks that require urgent attention or immediate action. - Produce written guidance that is practical for non-specialists, clearly explaining the rationale and referencing relevant standards or guidelines. - Compare and benchmark your assessments against peer feedback and established best practices to maintain consistency and rigor.

Preferred Qualifications

- 3-5 years of post-certification experience working directly with adolescents affected by substance use. - A clinical specialty in addiction medicine, or a child/adolescent psychiatry or psychology practice focused on substance use disorders. - An active, in-good-standing clinical license/registration with recent (<2 years) adolescent caseload experience. - Competence in adolescent substance use screening and severity staging tools (e.g., CRAFFT, S2BI, DSM-5, ASAM criteria). - Familiarity with medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD/MAT) and withdrawal management protocols for under-18s. - High-level written English proficiency (native, or IELTS 7.5+ overall/writing 7.0+, TOEFL 100+, Cambridge C1-C2, or equivalent). - Motivational interviewing training, adolescent inpatient/crisis experience, and/or a background in developing guidelines or publications related to youth substance use disorders (preferred).
