We seek an engineer to contribute to the advancement of distributed Postgres. You will collaborate on Multigres, our open-source distributed database system that enhances horizontal scalability for Postgres.

In this role, you will design and implement key components of a distributed database, such as sharding strategies, consensus protocols, and materialization systems. You will also work closely with our Postgres, networking, and infrastructure teams to explore the frontiers of distributed database technology.

Your Responsibilities Include:

- Architect and code query routing mechanisms for sharded databases - Construct consensus and replication systems to ensure distributed durability - Create materialization pipelines for data migrations and change data capture - Enhance connection pooling infrastructure and manage intelligent workload distribution - Engage with the open-source community in Multigres development

- Database sharding, relational algebra, and Postgres internals - Consensus protocols (Raft, Paxos, FlexPaxos) and distributed transactions - Stream processing, materialization, and change data capture - Designing robust, high-performance distributed systems with strong observability - Low-latency infrastructure and network protocol optimization.
