The work

- Build tooling that deploys and monitors many machine learning models - Architect and build middleware and back-end services, from proof of concept through to production, running alone or consumed by other applications and layers - Debug and troubleshoot - Write modular, extensible middleware and back-end services that other layers can build on - Carry out research and development across assorted problem domains - Produce documentation, and keep work secure and aligned with our coding standards

Requirements

Must have:

- Familiarity with Pandas, Numpy, Scikit or comparable ML libraries - Deep grounding in multi-paradigm programming: object-oriented, functional, procedural - Python, Django, Tornado, Flask, SQL and Python ORMs, RESTful services, pub/sub, Amazon AWS, Linux/Unix, TDD, Virtualenv - Hands-on background in distributed systems, SOA or microservices architectures - A track record designing and shipping scalable, distributed application systems - Strength in problem-solving, complexity analysis and algorithm design - Advanced English, written and spoken

Nice to have:

- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related field, or 7 years of comparable professional experience - CouchBase or another NoSQL technology - MQTT, Rabbit MQ or Redis - Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment - Stability and Capacity patterns, a strong advantage - Sharp writing and speaking skills - Time spent on international, cross-functional or remote teams
