About this job
1. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will join a cross-functional Product Tribe focused on building and launching Toggl 2.0, a consolidated planning, time tracking, and time intelligence product for managers. You will own significant parts of the user experience end-to-end, from data models and APIs to user interfaces, and collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers.
2. What you will do: - Take projects from problem to production, owning the technical approach for major features front to back. - Make technical calls, choose between options, and decide without waiting for permission. - Keep your work visible, flag risks and slips early, and unblock yourself. - Build interfaces that handle dense, real-world data, ensuring they stay fast, accessible, and readable. - Design the data and API layer those views depend on, modeling it to avoid future technical debt. - Own performance as a feature, profiling, measuring, and fixing slow queries and renders. - Write code that is easy for others to work with, including sensible components, real test coverage, and a maintainable codebase. - Shape solutions, push on requirements, and propose simpler paths when you see one. - Partner closely with design, prototype early, and hold the bar on UX quality. - Stay close to users and evidence, joining user tests and analyzing feedback and data. - Review code with intent, give precise, actionable feedback, and help other engineers grow. - Mentor and interview to help the engineering team grow. - Spot shared components and duplicated work between Tribes and raise it before we build the same thing twice. - Use AI tools extensively in your daily work for exploration, prototyping, code generation, and review.
3. What they are looking for: - Significant experience building and shipping production web applications end to end. - Comfortable on both sides of the stack, with deep knowledge of one side and capability on the other. - Deep, practical knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and modern CSS, including state management and side-effect handling in large applications. - Solid backend fundamentals: at least one backend language, API design, relational data modeling, and query performance instinct. - A high bar for quality, noticing details others miss, and not shipping work you wouldn't put your name on. - A knack for data-heavy product surfaces, ensuring performance, readability, and effective communication. - Care about the user's problem, not just the ticket, and start from what someone is trying to get done. - Own outcomes, not output, following your work into production, watching how it behaves, and fixing what needs fixing. - Thrive in ambiguity and move fast, making confident decisions with incomplete information, adapting when things change, and course-correcting without drama. - Actively use AI tools as a core part of your work, having opinions about where it helps and where it doesn't. - Set your own direction, keep people in the loop, and ask for help when it matters. - Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, writing clearly and explaining technical tradeoffs to non-engineers. - Eager to contribute to the engineering team's growth through code review, mentoring, and interviewing. - Value transparency, ownership, and speed over perfection, shipping, learning, and improving rather than waiting for the perfect plan.
4. Terms: - Salary: €83,000 annually - Location: You can work from anywhere in the world, with your main location between UTC-4 and UTC+4. - Hours: Team meetings are scheduled between 11:00 and 16:00 UTC, with essential availability and commitment to participate.
