We are actively seeking a Software Engineer with expertise in Ceph and distributed storage. You will join the Cloud Engineering team, focusing on developing modeling software for OpenStack, Ceph, and Kubernetes, with a particular emphasis on distributed storage and Ceph. Your role will involve engineering scalable solutions and working closely with our field teams to meet the needs of customers embracing advanced technology.

This position requires international travel several times a year, typically for one week at a time. The role will be based remotely in the EMEA or Americas regions.

Your Daily Responsibilities

- Author high-quality, meticulously designed Python and Golang code - Actively collaborate with a globally dispersed team - Identify and resolve issues, producing top-tier code to address them - Contribute to technical documentation that outlines best practices for creating high-quality operators - Engage in discussions and work collaboratively to find optimal solutions - Develop and maintain software for the deployment, operation, and lifecycle management of Ceph storage

What We Seek in You

- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, STEM, or a related field - Experience in writing modern, maintainable Python - Knowledge of Ceph storage - A passion for technology and working with talented individuals - Curiosity, flexibility, articulate communication, and accountability - A strong interest and experience in two or more of the following: Linux, Kubernetes, public cloud, OpenStack, LXC/LXD, Python, Go, Debian packaging - An exceptional academic track record - A willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events

Additional Skills

- Experience operating Ceph clusters in a production environment - Experience with open-source distributed storage systems like Gluster, Minio, or Mayastor
