Key Responsibilities

* Offer superior guidance and support to online students.

* Collaborate with faculty to develop and refine academic programs and curricula.

Core Duties

* Deliver high-quality instruction and support to online students.

* Offer prompt and comprehensive feedback on student assignments, blending encouragement with constructive critique.

* Manage a class of around 28 students.

* Assign students to groups for collaborative work and discussions.

* Respond promptly to students' queries about course content or academic issues.

* Organize and lead regular live sessions.

* Grade all assignments and provide timely feedback.

* Submit final grades after consulting with the lead faculty or program director by the CGPS deadline.

* Report any student concerns, such as poor performance or policy violations.

* Adhere to ACU’s policies and procedures as outlined in the University Handbook, Faculty Guidelines, and those set by the College of Graduate and Professional Studies.

* Offer feedback to the program director for program and course enhancements.

* Attend and contribute to program and faculty meetings.

* Participate in required trainings and update credentials as necessary.

* Stay informed about current trends and developments in the field through ongoing professional development.

* Represent the university at conferences, as appropriate and directed by the program director.

* Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal abilities.

Required Training

* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access.

* Familiarity with Google Calendar, Mail, Sheets, and Docs.

* Expertise in Canvas and Bridge (online learning platforms).

Qualifications

* Hold a Ph.D. from an accredited institution in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field. Preference for graduates from COAMFTE Ph.D. programs.

* Be an AAMFT Approved Supervisor or AAMFT Supervisor Candidate.

* Hold a state license in Marriage and Family Therapy.

* At least three years of post-doctoral teaching experience preferred.

* Recent research experience, such as publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, or program evaluation reports, is desirable.

* Experience teaching online is preferred.

* Be computer-savvy with software and internet-based applications.

* Be adept at APA formatting and citation requirements.

Physical Requirements

* Spend most of the time in front of a computer and on the telephone; must be able to use a computer and remain seated for extended periods.

* Engage in face-to-face, online, and telephone communications.

* Handle work-related stress and perform essential functions clearly: speaking, reading, writing, and hearing.
