Background

Objectives

The primary goal of this internship is to assist with the “Adding a Country” workflow for LUDP. The intern will test and document the process’s feasibility, clarity, and timeline by working with real country-level language datasets and supporting data preparation, validation, and reporting.

Role

The MIIS Intern will collaborate with the LUDP team, focusing on piloting workflows for language dataset acquisition, processing, quality assurance, and publication. Key responsibilities include:

- Identifying and acquiring country-level language datasets from public and institutional sources. - Preparing and standardizing datasets for integration into the LUDP environment. - Assisting with data cleaning, formatting, and metadata verification. - Running and documenting data processing workflows using existing tools and templates. - Supporting quality assurance and validation activities, including cross-referencing linguistic and geographic information. - Documenting challenges, ambiguities, timing estimates, and process improvement recommendations. - Drafting update reports and maintaining process documentation. - Collaborating with Clear Global staff to refine operational guidance and workflow materials. - Undertaking additional quality operations tasks as assigned. - Acting in the best interest of the organization throughout the project period.
