Bears Acquire All-Pro DT Jeffery Simmons from Titans

Trade Details

The Chicago Bears acquired All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons from the Tennessee Titans in a significant trade. The Bears will receive two first-round picks in 2027 and 2028, a fourth-round pick in 2027, and a fifth-round pick in 2028 in exchange for Simmons.

Simmons, 29, has spent his entire NFL career with the Titans, posting 46.5 sacks, 72 tackles for loss, and 96 quarterback hits over eight seasons. He was a first-team All-Pro last season, earning 11 sacks.

Simmons is the first defensive tackle in the common draft era to be traded for multiple first-round picks.

Impact on the Bears

Simmons's addition to the Bears' defensive line is expected to significantly boost their pass rush. The Bears' standard pass rush has recorded a 25% pressure rate over the last two seasons, the fourth lowest by any defense in that time.

Simmons's Pass Rush Win Rate of 27% is the highest in the NFL in 2026, making his inclusion a major upgrade for the Bears' defense.
