Collapse in the final over

Zimbabwe beat Namibia by five runs in a Twenty20 international at Windhoek on 31 August, defending a total of 195 after the hosts lost their last four wickets inside the final over, according to SportsAdda.

Namibia had been reduced to 76 for 6 in the 12th over of their chase of 196. Zane Green and Alexander Busing-Volschenk then added 110 in 49 balls and took the game to within 16 runs with an over remaining.

Green was run out by Sikandar Raza off the second ball of the last over for 54 from 26 deliveries, with seven fours and two sixes. Busing-Volschenk was caught by wicketkeeper Tadiwanashe Marumani two balls later for 56 from 29, having hit four sixes.

Evans and Burl set the total

Bernard Scholtz was run out by Brad Evans without facing a ball and Jack Brassell was bowled by Evans off the final delivery. Namibia reached 186 with four balls left and were all out for 190.

Zimbabwe's own innings followed a similar shape. They were 101 for 6 in the 12th over after losing Brian Bennett, Dion Myers, Sikandar Raza and Ben Curran while adding 12 runs, before Ryan Burl and Evans put on an unbroken 94 from 48 balls to reach 195 for 6.

Burl finished 57 not out from 32 balls with seven fours and Evans 37 not out from 24. SportsAdda reports that Zimbabwe were docked for a slow over rate and had to bowl the 20th over with an extra fielder inside the circle.

Series standings and the next fixture

Evans, who had dismissed Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus in the fifth over, ended with 3 for 41 and took both the player of the match award and Cricinfo's MVP rating. Bennett was the most economical Zimbabwe bowler with 2 for 8 from a single over, while Erasmus took 3 for 46 and was out for 12.

The three-team series had produced three matches and three different winners at that point. Namibia beat South Africa by 18 runs on 28 August, South Africa beat Zimbabwe by seven wickets on 29 August, and Zimbabwe then beat Namibia.

All three sides sat on two points, split by net run rate: South Africa on plus 0.969, Namibia on plus 0.325 and Zimbabwe on minus 1.505. India Fantasy previewed a further Namibia against Zimbabwe fixture at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek, with the final scheduled for Sunday 6 September. The result of that match is not stated in the sources.
