Job Title: Global Health Partnerships and Programs Manager

Job Description: This role is pivotal in driving the growth and success of the Health and Language Initiative (HLI) by fostering strategic alliances, securing resources, and expanding programs that enhance health outcomes for diverse communities.
At SIL, we leverage local language and cultural insights to promote global health equity. This position will be instrumental in nurturing and broadening the HLI’s scope, by engaging in partnership building, seeking sustainable financial support, and advancing organizational initiatives.
As the HLI matures, the Global Health Partnerships and Programs Manager will assume enhanced leadership roles, contributing to the strategic direction of the initiative. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with the HLI Team Leader to foster the strategic expansion and long-term viability of the Health and Language Initiative. - Utilize innovation and creativity to manage and support health-focused pilot projects at various levels. - Develop and maintain relationships with global health organizations, foundations, governmental bodies, academic institutions, and corporate partners. - Discover and pursue funding sources that will sustain HLI programs over the long term. - Engage with donors, prepare grant applications, nurture partnerships, and ensure effective stewardship. - Identify opportunities to expand HLI programming and amplify SIL's impact in the global health landscape. - Facilitate collaboration among internal and external stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives and partnerships. - Create and maintain resources, partnership documentation, presentations, and other materials to aid in communications, fundraising, and program growth. - Monitor partnerships, funding, and project outcomes, and provide recommendations for improvement to leadership. - Contribute to the HLI's long-term vision and prepare for increased leadership responsibilities as the initiative evolves. - Perform additional duties and special projects as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. - Background in global health, public health, international development, community development, or a related field. - Proven capability to build and sustain relationships across different cultures and sectors. - Familiarity with fundraising, donor engagement, grant development, or partnership development. - Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks. - Ability to work effectively in a remote and diverse team environment. - Effective interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills. - Proficiency in workplace tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, customer relationship management systems, and project management software. - Attention to detail with a proactive approach and strong follow-through. - Capability to influence, collaborate, and lead through relationships.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in global health, public health, international development, nonprofit management, community development, or a related field. - Experience working in multicultural settings and engaging with diverse communities. - Previous experience in partnership development, fundraising, donor relations, grant management, or resource mobilization is advantageous. - Experience supporting or managing international development or global health programs is beneficial. - Nonprofit experience is preferred. - Leadership experience in teams, coordinating volunteers, or developing others is a plus.
