PDG is seeking 1099 Solution Designers to join our network to meet our ongoing needs. This is a project-based role, and travel may be required for client meetings. This job posting is intended to attract potential candidates rather than for a specific project.

Position Summary

The Solution Designer is responsible for designing learning assets that align with various solutions to meet learning objectives and enhance performance. As the primary voice of instructional design, the Solution Designer translates design concepts into detailed and buildable plans, ensuring all learning and performance improvement experiences are consistent and comprehensive.

Key responsibilities of the Solution Designer include:

- Utilizing sound instructional design processes and adult learning methodologies to plan, design, and develop performance-driven learning solutions that drive behavior change. - Collaborating with Solution Architects and Senior Solution Designers in program design and measurement strategies. Working closely with the Engagement Manager, who oversees and manages the project.

Responsibilities

The Solution Designer will:

- Perform design tasks either independently or as part of a collaborative team. - Present solution concepts and detailed designs to senior-level business owners and L&D stakeholders, representing the voice of instructional design. - Apply instructional design approaches and PDG’s solutions frameworks to design and deliver learning assets and programs that produce measurable business impact. - Contribute to brainstorming sessions at appropriate points in the project lifecycle. - Assist in building the learning journey and measurement strategy. - Lead programs as a lead designer, where you will:

- Assess client needs to determine appropriate performance interventions. - Develop partnerships and working relationships with subject matter experts. - Write instructional content that is concise, engaging, and appropriate for the intended audience, purpose, and delivery method. - Produce learning resources in various formats, including print, graphics, audio, video, and other technologies. - Create training content using custom storyboard templates. - Provide instructional design support to all team members. - Collaborate cross-functionally with creative and technical departments to build client solutions. - Conduct and participate in system and user acceptance testing. - Ensure content accuracy and appropriateness, and provide quality control editorial support.

Requirements

The Solution Designer must have:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Solution Design, Solution Systems Design, English, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field. - At least 3 years of experience in instructional design, instructional technology, or training and education. - At least 3 years of experience working in a consulting environment. - A strong understanding of Learning Experience Design (LxD). - Proficiency in visual design, including strong PowerPoint skills. - Experience in the Life Sciences industry and/or designing learning solutions to support sales performance initiatives.
