In the role of a Contract Senior Front-End Engineer at Fueled, your primary goal is to design and construct the user-facing elements of our digital products, translating sophisticated design concepts into swift, user-friendly, and visually appealing experiences. You will collaborate on WordPress block themes and Next.js/React applications, showcasing your skills in custom CSS and Tailwind-based implementations as needed. Your adaptability, your integration of AI tools, and your dedication to performance and accessibility will significantly impact the user experience of our clients' digital properties.

Your Responsibilities:

* Design and develop large-scale, modular front-end products that set new benchmarks for performance, accessibility, and maintainability, while bringing innovative design concepts to life.

* Enhance the team's front-end capabilities through thoughtful code reviews and by establishing best practices for highly modular systems that others can follow.

* Convert complex design ideas into elegant, functional experiences that balance aesthetics with technical precision across all browsers and devices.

* Serve as a link between creative vision and technical implementation, confidently proposing solutions to clients and team members that propel projects forward.

* Your code will influence millions of users through meticulously crafted websites and tools that enhance the web's beauty, functionality, and accessibility.

Your Achievements:

* Within your first month, you will be fully immersed in our workflow—submitting high-quality pull requests, receiving constructive feedback, and demonstrating proficiency with Fueled's engineering standards and systems.

* By the 60-day mark, you will demonstrate mastery of Fueled's engineering standards, proactively handling quality assurance feedback, and taking ownership of ticket communication while leading a small project or feature implementation.

* By the 3-month mark, your component architecture and code review contributions will have significantly improved the quality and consistency of the team's front-end output.

* You will identify and present a technical pattern or process that enhances our approach to building maintainable front-end systems, potentially improving workflows across multiple projects.

* Through client-facing engagements, your technical insights will contribute to shaping creative and business outcomes, leaving behind work that exemplifies front-end excellence at Fueled beyond your contract term.

About You:

* You are meticulous in your approach to cross-browser/device front-end engineering, effortlessly transitioning between WordPress block editor/theme development and Next.js/React projects.

* Your portfolio or code samples exhibit problem-solving skills through elegant, maintainable solutions that highlight your technical versatility across various frameworks and environments.

* You communicate clearly and confidently, comfortably discussing technical concepts with clients and collaborating effectively with distributed team members.

* You think in systems and components, excelling at building interfaces that range from custom CSS implementations to efficient Tailwind-based layouts—always prioritizing user experience, performance, accessibility, and business goals.

* You embrace modern engineering workflows, adeptly leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency and quality while thriving in a remote environment where you take ownership of your work from wherever you choose.
