About the role We are looking for a Data Engineer who can own and deliver across data engineering tasks, integrations, and marketing systems. This is not a junior learning role: we need someone who can quickly understand production systems, solve problems independently, and ship reliable work. The core technical base is Python, SQL, and Bash . Experience with Google Tag Manager, pixel/conversion setup, and JavaScript is required. Airbyte and Airflow are nice to have, but not mandatory.

Requirements

* Strong Python, SQL, and Bash skills

* Experience with Google Tag Manager, pixels, conversion setup, and JavaScript

* Experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads, Bing Ads

* Engineering mindset and ability to work with production data systems

* Basic understanding of BigQuery, ClickHouse, dbt, and documentation practices

* Airbyte or similar ingestion tool experience is nice to have

* Basic Airflow familiarity is nice to have

* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Everyday Tasks

* Support and improve integrations in Airbyte and Airflow

* Work with GTM, marketing data sources, tracking, pixels, and conversion workflows

* Help move and transform data across BigQuery, GCS, Pub/Sub, ClickHouse, and external systems

* Troubleshoot pipeline, tracking, payment, and data quality issues

* Support payment orchestration data flows, including subscriptions and payment processing

* Work with different systems in combination and document how data flows between them

* Collaborate cross-functionally with Data, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Billing teams

Growth Areas You will develop across GCP infrastructure and DataOps, dbt, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Git, CI/CD, and software engineering practices. The role also includes exposure to internal monitoring platforms built with brokers, microservices, alerting, and observability tools, helping you grow system design skills through real production problems.

Key Success Factors Proactivity : we need someone who notices issues, asks questions early, follows through, and takes ownership without waiting for detailed instructions. High availability: on release days or during urgent tracking/payment setup, you should be ready to help in the evening when needed. Delivery mindset : the goal is not only to learn, but to deliver reliable work across data engineering, marketing systems, payment flows, and internal platforms.

Location Ruby Labs operates within the CET (Central European Time) zone. Applicants from any country are welcome to apply for the position as long as they are located within approximately ± 4 hours of CET. This ensures optimal collaboration and communication during working hours.
