We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our ranks. The BootStack team is dedicated to designing, building, and operating modern distributed systems on private infrastructure for our customers. From Kubernetes to OpenStack, you'll work with the latest technologies in a fast-paced engineering environment. As a Cloud Engineering Manager for the BootStack team, you'll oversee the engineers responsible for the daily managed service of customer environments, including customer support, operations, and continuous product improvement. Effective collaboration with customers, product engineering, and operations is key to your success.
This role is fully remote, with global opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead a growing engineering team to enhance the quality and speed of both development and operations - Monitor and improve team health through targeted metrics - Establish and enforce rigorous engineering and operations procedures - Serve as a liaison between the BootStack team and stakeholders, customers, and external teams - Ensure the team is aligned on priorities, milestones, and deliverables - Work closely with customers to meet global service level agreements - Provide high-quality managed services consistently and efficiently
We seek a candidate with the following qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in a technical field - A proven track record of professional experience in software delivery using Python, Go, C, C++, Java, or similar, or in managing operations teams - Experience with OpenStack - A strong commitment to testing and maintainable code quality - Proficiency in Linux system administration, particularly with Ubuntu/Debian - Excellent communication and teamwork skills - Experience with agile software development methodologies - A history of working in and managing distributed teams - A technical background in understanding complex distributed systems - Familiarity with cloud topologies and technologies - Willingness to travel up to 20% for team and company events and customer meetings
