CodePath’s educational programs are built on our learning platform, which includes systems for admissions, course delivery, grading, career coaching, and reporting. A lean engineering team is responsible for developing and maintaining all these components. As our learner base expands, we need a person who can ensure the continuity and efficiency of our projects.

We seek an Engineering Project and Quality Assurance (QA) Manager who will work closely with our engineers. Your role will involve organizing and advancing projects, ensuring quality through thorough testing, and managing our bug tracking process.

Key Activities - Track and Organize Projects: Monitor ongoing tasks, identify roadblocks, and assist the team in aligning on upcoming priorities. - Ensure Quality: Conduct thorough testing, leverage AI to automate repetitive tasks, and develop Capybara tests where appropriate. - Manage Bug Pipeline: Identify issues, prioritize them, route them to the appropriate engineer, and verify the fix. - Act as a Daily Connector: Facilitate communication between engineers, the product team, and internal users of our tools. - Suggest Process Improvements: Evaluate when implementing new processes or rituals could benefit the team, but consider the potential drawbacks. - Provide Regular Status Reports: Keep the team and leadership informed about project progress.

Qualifications - Experience: 4+ years in project management, delivery, or QA roles, preferably within a small engineering team. - Technical Skills: Proficiency in reproducing bugs, understanding stack traces, and writing test cases to automate bug fixes. - QA Experience: Proven experience in owning and managing testing and bug tracking processes, both manual and automated. - AI Integration: Comfort using AI tools to streamline repetitive tasks. - Process Judgment: Ability to introduce structure where beneficial and avoid it where it may hinder progress. - Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, and a collaborative approach. - Flexibility: Comfort working in a dynamic, small-team environment with flexible processes.

Nice to Have - Technical Familiarity: Knowledge of Ruby on Rails or Django frameworks. - Testing Tools: Experience with Capybara, RSpec, or similar testing tools. - Stakeholder Engagement: Background in working with product managers and non-technical stakeholders. - First Hire: Experience as the first project manager or QA hire on a team.

Compensation CodePath’s salary is based on the role’s level, regardless of location. For this position, the compensation range is $140,000 to $178,000 annually for US-based applicants, with adjustments for international applicants.
