About this job
Overview
A Lead Software Engineer is wanted to build the backbone backend services behind our centralized AI platform. The position sits between writing code and leading technically: you take ownership of large backend components while mentoring mid-level engineers. Partnering with senior ICs and teams across functions, you will produce reliable, secure, scalable services underneath our agentic framework, so that any team in the company can roll out and run AI agents without friction.
What you will do
* Architect and ship RESTful API endpoints that scale for the AI platform.
* Write and tune Python backend services (FastAPI, Django, or Flask) covering agent lifecycle management, deployment, and monitoring.
* Help build authentication and authorization that stays secure across a multi-tenant setup.
* Create database schemas and data access layers that run efficiently for AI agent operations.
* Set up asynchronous task processing for AI workflows that run long.
* Partner with IC5 engineers on SDK design and backend architecture, shaping technical direction while pushing execution forward.
* Mentor IC3 engineers via code review, technical conversations, and sharing best practices.
* Hold the bar on reliability and quality with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and security standards.
* Keep current with what is new in backend and AI/agentic frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, LangGraph).
What we look for
* A Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
* 5+ years writing backend code, including substantial work on scalable Python applications and APIs.
* Command of current Python frameworks (FastAPI, Django REST Framework, Flask).
* Strong background in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) plus ORM frameworks (SQLAlchemy, Django ORM).
* Practical exposure to microservices or distributed systems.
* Enough containerization and orchestration knowledge to be useful (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Git, CI/CD workflows, and automated testing under your belt.
* Some contact with agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen), or real appetite to pick them up.
* Cloud background (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
* A track record of coaching junior engineers and shaping technical calls.
