We are seeking a Linux devices software engineer to join our SnapD team. This role involves developing mission-critical Golang code focused on software delivery, container management, security, telemetry, and device oversight.
Snaps are advanced software packages for Linux, designed for safety, security, and reliability. They are tailored for IoT devices, desktops, and servers, ensuring application-specific confinement. Our goal is to enable snaps to run across various Linux distributions, providing publishers with the easiest means to reach the entire Linux community.
To excel in this role, candidates must possess a deep commitment to quality and performance. A keen interest in software publishing and consumption experiences is essential. Passion for open-source software development is highly valued. We prioritize collaboration, peer reviews, comprehensive testing, and maintainable code. Basic knowledge and experience with Linux as a development platform are required. Prior experience with Golang is beneficial.
This position is remote, with opportunities for travel to EMEA or the Americas regions for up to two weeks every year.
Responsibilities include:
- Engage proactively with a geographically dispersed team - Craft high-quality code for new features - Investigate and resolve Linux system-level issues - Review and provide feedback on code authored by other engineers - Share and discuss ideas to find optimal solutions - Focus on robustness, especially in the face of unexpected events like power outages
