micro1 is seeking experienced Manufacturing Design Engineers to join a project aimed at advancing mechanical design for manufacturing. Your role will involve applying your specialized knowledge to support the training of next-generation AI systems. This project focuses on crafting high-quality, real-world input to enhance model learning, reasoning, and performance. No prior AI experience is necessary; what matters is your domain expertise. You will utilize skills in FreeCAD or equivalent parametric CAD platforms to design, document, and validate production-ready components and assemblies. Scope of Work

- Develop and update detailed parametric 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and assemblies using FreeCAD or comparable tools. - Produce thorough engineering drawings, including GD&T and tolerance stacks, for manufacturing handover. - Design for various manufacturing processes, such as sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, plastics, and injection molding. - Conduct CAD validation and quality assurance checks to ensure model accuracy and readiness for production. - Create clear and concise technical documentation and assembly instructions for AI model training. - Integrate feedback from technical reviewers to refine and enhance CAD models and supporting documents.

Preferred Qualifications

- At least 2 years of experience in designing mechanical components for manufacturing settings. - Proficiency in FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD software for advanced modeling, assemblies, and drawing generation. - Practical experience with sheet metal, CNC, plastics, and injection molding design considerations. - Deep understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) best practices. - Demonstrated capability to generate production-grade CAD models and validate them against real-world manufacturability criteria. - Strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure clarity in documentation and effective collaboration.
