About the Role

We are seeking a Product Manager, Marketplace to join our Product Team, focusing on leading our marketplace and integration surfaces.

The marketplace serves as a two-sided platform within the Supabase ecosystem. On one side, Partners and developers create and publish integrations using Supabase's core functionalities, such as Authentication, Storage, and Edge Functions. On the other side, Supabase's developer community discovers and integrates these capabilities into their projects, all while maintaining a seamless workflow. Successfully managing this platform ensures the smoothest journey from a developer's problem to the solution.

This role is crucial as the marketplace's importance is set to grow. With an increasing number of capabilities and the rise of agent-driven software assembly, the marketplace will become the key distribution and discovery layer for the entire ecosystem. This role will oversee the entire process.

Responsibilities

- Strategy and Roadmap: Develop and own the product strategy and roadmap for the marketplace, ensuring a seamless surface for Partners and developers to publish and discover integrations. - Ease of Use: Ensure that developers can effortlessly find and integrate the right capabilities. This includes optimizing discovery, search, listings, and the entire process from installation to integration. - Publishing Ecosystem: Facilitate a streamlined and rewarding process for Partners and developers to publish their integrations, maintaining an up-to-date and deep catalog. - Quality Standards: Set and enforce high-quality standards for listings, working closely with Engineering and Partnerships to establish review, guardrail, and versioning mechanisms. - Metrics and Monitoring: Define and monitor metrics across both supply and demand, continuously improving the marketplace's performance. - Agent-Driven Development: Position the marketplace as a key distribution layer for agent-driven development, ensuring that capabilities are seamlessly discovered and composed.

Ideal Candidate

- Experience: At least 7 years of experience in product management for developer tools or marketplaces, or a background as an ex-founder with strong product instincts. - Marketplace Experience: A proven track record of building and growing a two-sided surface, such as an app store, plugin ecosystem, or developer platform. - Speed and Efficiency: A bias towards speed and a willingness to ship something imperfect and learn rather than spend additional time on perfecting specifications. - Hands-On Use: Regular use of the marketplace from both sides, publishing and integrating, to gain firsthand insights. - AI Utilization: Use AI tools to streamline research, drafting, and feedback synthesis, allowing more time for critical decision-making. - Remote Collaboration: Work asynchronously, as Supabase operates fully remotely, with decisions made through written communication.
