The Role

On behalf of a client, we are hiring a Senior SAP S/4HANA Developer to head backend and full-stack work inside a current S/4HANA enterprise environment. The position carries technical ownership over the design, construction, and extension of business-critical SAP applications, using contemporary approaches such as the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) and Core Data Services (CDS).

Your work will follow "Clean Core" architecture rules closely, keeping development modern and safe through upgrades. Instead of legacy ABAP patterns heavy on modifications, you will construct side-by-side extensions on SAP BTP, publish tuned OData services, shift demanding calculations down into the in-memory SAP HANA database, and ship clear user experiences through SAP Fiori.

What we're looking for

* 5+ years in SAP development, of which at least 3 years on S/4HANA, with mastery of Object-Oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP), New ABAP Syntax (7.4+), and RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model).

* High-level skill writing sophisticated Core Data Services (CDS) Views, along with parameters, associations, access controls (DCL), and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP) that push code down for performance.

* Deep track record building and publishing OData v2/v4 services through SAP Gateway (SEGW) or RAP business services, consumed by UIs and by third-party cloud integrations.

* Real-world work on custom SAP Fiori / SAPUI5 applications, or configuration of Fiori Elements apps through CDS annotations.

* Solid grasp of current SAP extensibility frameworks, covering On-Stack Developer Extensibility (Embedded ABAP / Steampunk) and Side-by-Side Extensibility on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

* Demonstrated skill tracing, profiling, and tuning ABAP/HANA execution with Runtime Analysis (SAT), ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC), SQL Trace (ST05), and SQL Monitor (SQLM).

Nice-to-have skills

* Direct experience building side-by-side extensions on SAP BTP with Node.js/CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model) or ABAP Cloud.

* History with legacy-to-S/4HANA code remediation, custom code analysis (CCA), and migration work.

* Familiarity with Event-Driven Architecture through SAP Event Mesh or Kafka integrations.

* Understanding of standard SAP S/4HANA business process modules (FI/CO, SD, MM, or PP).

Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and support fast transactional and analytical SAP applications built on ABAP RAP, CDS views, and AMDP.

* Create enhancements and side-by-side extensions that survive upgrades, holding legacy modifications to an absolute minimum so core stability stays intact.

* Plan and publish secure OData endpoints that serve SAP Fiori interfaces, mobile apps, and enterprise cloud integrations.

* Run automated code checks (ATC), uphold clean code standards, review peers' code, and tune legacy custom code so it fits S/4HANA.

* Work side by side with SAP functional consultants, enterprise architects, and BTP specialists, turning business requirements into technical solution specifications.
