What We Are Seeking: We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to enhance Enode’s EV platform for greater reliability, observability, and efficiency. As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Platform Connect team at Enode, you will concentrate on improving the reliability, observability, and scalability of Enode's connectivity layer. This is the component of our API that consolidates integrations with EV chargers, vehicles, and OEM platforms into a seamless and dependable product for our customers. This role is not focused on infrastructure or DevOps tasks. The Platform Connect team is responsible for the product-level platform that drives connectivity at Enode, maintaining and expanding the layer that links our users to energy devices through consistent, high-quality integrations. You will tackle complex, critical tasks that are essential to the business and see them through to completion, helping to maintain our platform's resilience as we scale to more OEMs and partners. Working closely with other senior engineers on the team, you will help set the technical standards and support your colleagues. You will switch between hands-on development, shaping technical direction, and assisting teammates as needed, depending on the team’s needs. Our technology stack is built around a TypeScript-based codebase combined with React, Node, AWS, Docker, and PostgreSQL, structured via CDK/CloudFormation. Your responsibilities include:

- Developing and maintaining API integrations with OEMs and energy partners, ensuring they are reliable, performant, and well tested. - Enhancing the connectivity platform by reducing incidents and improving observability, monitoring, and alerting, including the automation and internal tools that support these efforts. - Undertaking complex projects and driving them to successful completion, breaking them into actionable work and delivering with minimal guidance. - Maintaining a high standard of code quality, testing, and observability, and caring about the overall state of the codebase beyond your own contributions. - Collaborating with product and the team to align platform priorities, balancing stability with delivery. - Taking ownership of your work and supporting your teammates, sharing knowledge and contributing to technical decisions that keep the team aligned.

If you are not yet fully there, we are looking for someone eager to integrate it quickly. Additionally:

- You have experience writing maintainable, testable backend code, ideally in an environment with a high volume of API or integration work. - You are enthusiastic about platform engineering in the product sense, building the connectivity layer that powers integrations, not managing infrastructure or CI/CD pipelines. - You enjoy developing new integrations and making existing systems more reliable and observable, and you are methodical in debugging issues across services and preventing them from recurring. - You communicate clearly, contribute to technical discussions, and can explain complex topics to non-technical stakeholders. - You take ownership beyond your own work and care about the team. You share knowledge, support teammates, and help improve how the team operates.
