Job Title: Software Developer Location: Global Position Type: Volunteer
Job Description: A Software Developer plays a key role in crafting software applications by leveraging their programming expertise. They collaborate with clients to define software requirements, write and test code, and enhance existing software to improve features like security and storage. Their primary duties include:
* Creating and deploying software applications, new functionalities, and resolving defects. * Crafting unit tests and conducting code reviews. * Contributing to team projects with the lead, ensuring quality and delivering software applications. * Engaging actively and positively within the team, showing ownership, responsibility, and clear communication with colleagues and supervisors. * Aligning with the team’s product roadmap.
Secondary Duties:
* Analyzing software needs by consulting with end-users. * Offering developer-level support to the user community. * Preparing technical documentation for new software. * Attending regular project status, planning, partnership, and strategic meetings. * Traveling annually to meet with the broader development team. * Attending biannual Language Technology Conferences. * Participating in professional conferences and meetings.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Software Developers should have practical experience in software engineering and a clear understanding of the software development lifecycle. A bachelor’s degree in computer science is preferred, but a passion for continuous learning and growth is more valued.
Training and Orientation: Upon joining, Software Developers will participate in the initial IT Software Department training program and specific sections of the IT Orientation.
