About this job
Video Data Collector (Smartphone) Contract engagement. Remote.
micro1 is bringing on skilled contributors for a Video Data Collector (Smartphone) engagement supporting a customer project, open to people in these countries: UK, Canada, India, Singapore, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia. The work feeds training data into next-generation AI systems, influencing how those models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality real-world input. AI background is not needed. What counts is your own domain knowledge.
What the work involves
* Film first-person video of ordinary daily activities in real settings, shot naturally on your own smartphone mounted with a head strap during the first phase.
* Follow the detailed capture briefs closely, then upload recordings via an internal platform with every required metadata field filled in correctly.
* Source your own shooting spots inside the approved settings, staying within privacy, consent, and safety rules.
* Move onto company-supplied video gear and revised workflows in later phases, filming in public, commercial, and outdoor locations.
* Set up and film group activities alongside other people where an assignment calls for extra participants, collecting every written consent and permission first.
* Hold the quality and reliability of the data steady across the project so deliverables land within the stated guidelines.
* Keep clear lines open with project coordinators, flagging progress, obstacles, or anything needing clarification.
What we like to see
* Track record in video capture or comparable data collection work, plus sharp attention to detail.
* Dependable access to your own good-quality smartphone that shoots video well (needed for phase one).
* Clear writing and speaking, especially precision when submitting work and corresponding.
* Capacity to work through complicated instructions while staying rigorous about privacy, consent, and metadata rules.
* Ease operating in both home and public spaces while gathering data, plus willingness to bend as project needs shift.
* Track record coordinating or working alongside others on group shoots.
* Room to juggle mixed tasks and pick up unfamiliar workflows and equipment quickly as the project moves forward.
