Junior SEO Specialist - Marketing, remote

Better Proposals is hiring a Junior SEO Specialist - a junior role, which makes it one of the rarer ways into the international market. The role sits in Marketing and is fully remote. The company places no restriction on where the candidate lives, so you can apply from anywhere.

The advert singles out SEO, so experience with that one tool is what will decide it.

The employer did not publish a figure; that is settled at interview. The advert sets no condition on working hours.

This vacancy passed an automated check: the list excludes any advert requiring a foreign work permit, visa sponsorship, a particular citizenship, or residence in a specific country.

The employer's description

Headquarters: Brighton, UK

URL: https://betterproposals.io/

Are you “the one”?

We're looking for a Junior SEO Specialist to join our growth team. You’ll work directly with the Growth Manager and help with everything SEO related, from keyword research and internal linking to technical SEO, content planning and link building.

This is a junior role, but not a trainee position. You should already understand the basics, know your way around the usual SEO tools and be ready to work on a real website. You will not be expected to know everything. You will be expected to learn as much as possible and figure things out.

What does the job look like?

The role covers most areas of SEO, including:

* Researching keywords and identifying new opportunities

* Reviewing existing pages and recommending improvements

* Finding and implementing internal linking opportunities

* Creating content briefs and proposing new pages

* Monitoring rankings, traffic and organic conversions

* Using Google Search Console to investigate performance and indexing

* Crawling the website with Screaming Frog

* Using Ahrefs for keyword, competitor, content and backlink research

* Finding and qualifying link building prospects

* Running outreach campaigns and following up with contacts

* Tracking new links and reporting on campaign performance

* Identifying common technical SEO issues

* Creating and checking structured data

* Improving page titles, descriptions, headings and on-page content

* Helping us track GEO, AIO and AI search visibility

You will not do every one of these things every day, and you will not be the only one on the team. Don’t have experience with all of these? Don’t worry.

Some weeks will be more focused on content. Others might involve technical checks, outreach or improving pages that are already performing well.

What we’re looking for

You should already understand:

* The basics of technical, on-page and off-page SEO

* How to do keyword research

* How to assess search intent

* How internal linking works

* The basics of link building and outreach

* How to use Google Search Console

* How to use the main reports in Ahrefs

* How to crawl and inspect a website with Screaming Frog

* What schema and structured data are

* How to use AI tools to work faster without trusting everything they produce

You do not need to be an expert in every area.

We are looking for someone who understands the fundamentals, can follow a process and is willing to figure stuff out when they don’t immediately understand them.

You should also be comfortable working independently. You will get direction and feedback and someone will always be there for you. But we are not interested in micro management.

Nice to have

It would be useful if you have experience with any of the following:

* SaaS SEO

* WordPress or another CMS

* Basic HTML

* Writing content briefs

* Link building outreach

* SEO reporting and analytics

* GEO, AIO or optimisation for AI search tools

Experience with GEO or AIO is welcome, but not required.

Nobody has ten years of GEO experience. A genuine interest in learning about it is enough.

Benefits

* Salary dependent on experience and what you can bring to the role. We use Glassdoor as a guide for your location and pay above average.

* Remote work in a global company, with a friendly and hardworking team

* Opportunity to grow within the company, and earn promotions and pay rises

* No work on your birthday

* 3 weeks paid holiday + 1 week for every year (capped at 6 weeks)

* Choose 8 national holidays that make sense to your country.

* Annual bonus based on personal performance

Our AI policy

We don’t hate AI, but we NEVER use AI tools to produce customer facing content. Our customer support is not AI based, you always have a live person to talk to. Our articles are not AI written slop, but real opinions and expertise of real people. We want it to stay that way.

Using AI tools for keyword research, data analytics and process improvements is cool. Posting what ChatGPT spits out and passing it as a blog article is a fireable offence!

Next steps   Assuming everything goes well, here’s how our hiring process goes:

* You apply

* We have an initial interview

* We will have a 2nd interview

* In special cases we might have a quick 3rd call to clarify a few things, but mostly not.

* We offer you the job

* You’re expected to accept it within 1 business day.

Application deadline: Friday 28th August 2026
