Grealish Agrees Everton Loan Return From Man City

Everton have agreed a deal to sign Jack Grealish from Manchester City on a season-long loan, The Athletic reported. The 30-year-old England winger was due to undergo a medical on Tuesday morning before completing the move.
The Athletic reported that several clubs enquired about Grealish, but Everton were his first choice and the only side to agree to Manchester City's terms. Sunderland had made a loan offer earlier in the window.
Grealish spent last season on loan at Everton, scoring two goals and adding six assists in 22 appearances under manager David Moyes before a stress fracture in his foot ended his campaign. Manchester City signed him from Aston Villa for a then British record fee of 100 million pounds in 2021, and he has made 159 appearances for the club with 17 goals and 23 assists.
The Manchester City Situation
Grealish played in Manchester City's opening two league games of the season, including a substitute appearance in the 2-1 win over Bournemouth, his first Premier League outing for the club since May 2025. He was then left out of manager Enzo Maresca's squad entirely for Friday's 4-1 win at Crystal Palace.
Goal.com reported that a return to his boyhood club Aston Villa had been widely discussed, but talkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino said Villa manager Unai Emery would block it. "I think Unai Emery wants certain players to do certain things and I'm not sure that Jack ticks those boxes," Cascarino said.
The Athletic also reported that Manchester City had reached an agreement in principle for Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye. The sources do not say whether that deal was completed.
Other Deadline Business
The transfer window for Premier League and English Football League clubs closes at 23:00 BST on Tuesday, according to BBC Sport, with deals allowed to be completed afterwards if clubs submit a deal sheet by 21:00 BST. Scottish Premiership clubs have until 17:00 BST on Thursday and Women's Super League clubs until 23:00 BST the same day.
BBC Sport reported that Juventus agreed a loan deal for Newcastle United striker Nick Woltemade, and that German forward Ilyas Ansah joined Hull City from Union Berlin on a five year deal reported at 15 million euros plus 12 million euros in add-ons. Tottenham Hotspur confirmed Souza had joined FC Porto on loan for the rest of the 2026/27 season.
Arsenal remain interested in Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, though The Athletic reported he appeared unmoved with the deadline approaching. Everton have also explored a move for Fulham right-back Kenny Tete and decided against selling 19-year-old midfielder Harrison Armstrong to Nottingham Forest, who had discussed a potential 40 million pound deal.
