Our design team aims to simplify complex open-source software into user-friendly products that redefine enterprise IT. We are looking for a talented, technically savvy UX designer who shares our vision.
This role reports to the Infrastructure UX manager and is based remotely in the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Developing tools that enable users to create their own cloud experiences (MAAS, LXD, MicroCloud, and Canonical k8s) - Collaborating with product managers and engineers to advance the concept of self-sovereign clouds - Supporting intricate products through design and UX methodologies - Contributing to the evolution and promotion of design systems that ensure consistency and efficiency - Understanding the broader implications of your work and its multifaceted constraints - Assisting a working group to facilitate Canonical design’s cross-functional efforts
We are seeking a candidate with:
- An outstanding academic background, including both high school and university - A degree in User Experience, Design, or a relevant STEM field, or a compelling personal narrative - A passion for building and working with real-world hardware - Strong knowledge and enthusiasm for user experience, technology, and design - A commitment to continuous learning and improvement, showing curiosity, flexibility, and a scientific mindset - A results-driven attitude with a commitment to completing work and celebrating achievements - Experience and comfort with user research - An engagement with the latest design research and innovation
UX designers should be exceptional communicators, adept at collaborating with engineers, designers, and executives. They should effectively present their design positions with clarity and precision. They must be confident and enthusiastic about tackling complex design challenges. Additionally, they should be able to align their design leadership with the company's strategic goals.
