As a Business Analyst in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), your role will involve examining current workflows, business needs, and operational performance to pinpoint areas for enhancement. You will collaborate with diverse teams, including billing, coding, claims, accounts receivable, and client-facing departments, to optimize processes and improve service delivery.

Your Responsibilities

- Evaluate existing revenue cycle workflows to uncover process deficiencies, inefficiencies, and potential improvements. - Collect and document business requirements from internal teams and clients. - Create detailed maps of both current and anticipated future processes related to billing, coding, claims, payment posting, and accounts receivable. - Examine operational and financial data to recognize patterns and support strategic decisions. - Convert business needs into specific requirements for system, process, or reporting upgrades. - Work closely with RCM teams to explore operational challenges and devise practical solutions. - Assist in the rollout and testing of new processes, system updates, and workflow modifications. - Develop documentation, requirements, reports, and presentations for key stakeholders. - Monitor improvement projects and share updates, risks, and outcomes with project and operational teams.

Essential Qualifications

- At least 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in the healthcare, healthcare services, or revenue cycle management sectors. - Familiarity with healthcare revenue cycle operations, such as billing, coding, claims, payment posting, and accounts receivable. - Experience in gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements. - Proficient in process mapping and workflow analysis. - Advanced Excel and data analysis skills. - Skill in translating complex operational needs into clear, actionable requirements. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. - Analytical and problem-solving mindset with meticulous attention to detail. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and work autonomously in a remote setting. - Access to a HIPAA-compliant workspace.

Desirable Skills

- Previous experience with healthcare RCM or practice management systems. - Knowledge of Epic, Athena, eClinicalWorks, or similar healthcare platforms. - Expertise in SQL, Power BI, or other data analysis tools. - Familiarity with process improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma. - History of supporting software deployments or system enhancements. - Background in working with provider groups or hospitals.
