OVERVIEW

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Welocalize is looking for enthusiastic and culturally proficient Sports Subject Matter Experts, particularly in football, with outstanding writing abilities to join our localization team. Your role will involve reviewing, localizing, fact-checking, translating, and adapting football-related content to ensure it resonates with the local audience.

PRIMARY DUTIES

* Scrutinize, adapt, and translate sports-related content, primarily focused on football, ensuring compliance with writing style guidelines and standards

* Conduct market-specific research on local content, product, and terminology trends, along with best localization practices for the intended audience in your market

* Offer constructive feedback on written material

REQUIRED SKILLS

* Bachelor's Degree and/or 2+ years of experience in the linguistic field, sports journalism, copywriting, or copy-editing

* Comprehensive knowledge of football

* Experience in the translation and localization of multimedia content, ideally including machine translations and evaluations

* Native-level proficiency in the target language

* Exceptional grammar and writing skills in the native language

* Strong creative writing, proofreading, and editing abilities in the native language

* Technologically adept: proficient in computer and mobile device usage, word processing, and spreadsheet software

* Possession of a licensed version of MS Office applications

* Ability to work independently and remotely

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

* Published articles on platforms such as ESPN, The Athletic, FourFourTwo, or similar

* Experience working with sports media platforms, live score applications, or sports streaming services

* A talent for adapting voice and style to resonate with Gen Z, football fan culture, and pop culture audiences
