Our mission is to train the engineers who power the AI era, aiming to impact millions of learners, generate hundreds of millions in revenue, and create billions of dollars in economic impact. If you're eager to lead and be part of a 0-to-1 journey at an organization that moves at the speed of AI, this is where you can make it happen.

About the Role

Location: Remote, open to applicants in the United States, Europe, Canada, or LATAM

Role Type: Full-Time

Reporting to: VP of Engineering

Compensation: For US-based applicants, the salary range is $140,000 to $178,000 annually, with adjustments based on location for candidates from Canada, LATAM, and Europe.

CodePath's educational programs operate on our learning platform, which encompasses applications for admissions, course delivery, grading, career coaching, and reporting. Our small engineering team handles the development and maintenance of all these systems. As we grow and serve more learners, we need someone who will help maintain and improve our operations.

We are looking for an Engineering Project Manager who works closely with our engineering team daily. You will be responsible for organizing projects, ensuring that the work is tested thoroughly, and that bugs are addressed. Additionally, you will serve as the link between the engineering team, the product team, and the internal teams that use our tools.

Key Activities

- Oversee project organization and progression: track tasks, identify bottlenecks, and ensure the team is clear on upcoming tasks. - Ensure quality: test our work, use AI to automate repetitive tasks, and write tests where necessary. - Manage the bug pipeline: identify and prioritize issues, route them to the appropriate engineer, and verify fixes. - Serve as a daily liaison between the engineers, the product team, and internal users of our tools. - Collaborate with the team to determine when additional processes or rituals are needed, while considering the balance between efficiency and complexity. - Provide regular updates to the team and leadership on project status.

Qualifications

- At least 4 years of experience in project management, delivery, or QA, ideally within a small engineering team. - Technical background to work closely with engineers: ability to diagnose bugs, read stack traces, and create automated test cases. - Hands-on QA experience: ownership of testing and bug pipeline, whether manual or automated. - Experience using AI tools to streamline manual tasks. - Skillful in judgment and process optimization: add structure when beneficial and avoid it when unnecessary. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively with people. - Comfortable with ambiguity and small-team dynamics, having experience working in environments with minimal formal process. - Passionate about education and a desire to create positive impacts.

Nice to Haves

- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or Django codebases, the stacks we use. - Experience with Capybara, RSpec, or similar testing tools. - Experience collaborating with product managers and non-technical stakeholders. - History as the first project manager or QA hire on a team.

Compensation

At CodePath, we base our salaries on the position's level, regardless of location. For this role, we offer an annual salary of $140,000 to $178,000 for US-based applicants, with adjustments for candidates from Canada, LATAM, and Europe. The final salary is determined based on your relevant experience and skills as assessed through our interview process.

Full-Time Employee Benefits

This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the U.S.! CodePath prioritizes employee well-being with a competitive benefits package to support your health, financial security, and work-life balance.

- Health & Wellness: Medical, dental, and vision insurance (90% employer-covered), healthcare reimbursement, FSAs, and Employee Assistance Program. - Financial Security: 401(k), employer-paid life & disability insurance, and identity theft protection. - Work-Life Balance: Generous paid time off, paid holidays, 10 weeks of fully paid parental leave, and an annual year-end company closure (December 24 - January 2). - Professional Growth: $1,000 annual professional development stipend and home office setup support. - Student Loan Forgiveness: CodePath is a qualifying employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), helping employees manage student loan debt. - Additional Perks: Pet wellness plans, legal services, home/auto insurance discounts, and exclusive marketplace savings.
