The Assurance and Compliance Manager will play a crucial role in supporting our compliance framework, offering expert guidance and evaluating internal controls across the organization. This role will collaborate closely with the Head of Quality & Assurance and the Head of Compliance to deliver a comprehensive quality and assurance program across audit, non-audit services, and internal functions, and will provide practical support to Hubs and central teams to uphold high standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Compliance Monitoring

- Oversee the quality assurance monitoring program throughout the company. - Conduct periodic control assessments, walkthroughs, and sample testing in key compliance areas, such as ISQM testing, non-audit service lines, onboarding, internal cold file reviews, and internal functions. - Detect reporting discrepancies, control deficiencies, and compliance shortfalls, collaboratively develop practical remediation plans with stakeholders, and monitor progress until completion. - Prepare reports on findings, emerging risks, trends, and recommendations for senior management and governance boards.

Continuous Improvement

- Lead initiatives to enhance ethics, regulatory compliance, professional standards, and quality assurance. - Utilize monitoring outcomes, regulatory updates, stakeholder feedback, and management data to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of compliance controls and procedures. - Identify opportunities to fortify controls, simplify processes, elevate documentation standards, and promote best practices across the organization.

Training & Capability Building

- Plan, organize, and conduct compliance and quality assurance training programs. - Create and deliver new employee compliance training, technical regulatory training in partnership with subject matter experts, and refresher programs. - Foster a strong culture of compliance, quality, and continuous improvement within the business.

Hub Compliance Support

- Offer oversight, guidance, and assistance to Hubs in fulfilling annual and ongoing compliance requirements. - Collaborate with Hub colleagues and support teams to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations in areas such as Practice Assurance, Client Money, Designated Professional Body (Investment Business), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and ATOL. - Provide practical advice and support when risks or compliance gaps are identified, while maintaining accountability within the relevant Hub or business area.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a compliance, risk, assurance, audit, or regulatory role, preferably in a professional services or regulated environment. - Demonstrated experience managing people, maintaining structured processes, and implementing quality assurance programs. - Proven capability to work with senior leaders and cross-functional teams. - Familiarity with multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional environments. - Preferred but not mandatory: Accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
