Agreement in Principle

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement in principle to sign forward Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, The Athletic reports.

A separate agreement has also been reached for Tottenham striker Richarlison to rejoin Everton. Sources at both clubs, speaking anonymously to The Athletic because they were not authorised to comment publicly, said the two moves are not linked. Both deals are subject to personal terms and medicals.

Sky Sports reported earlier that the clubs were in advanced talks over the two players, with Spurs having approached Everton about Ndiaye.

Ndiaye's Everton Record

Ndiaye, a 26-year-old Senegal international, joined Everton from French club Marseille in 2024 for a fee of 15 million pounds, according to The Athletic, which lists the figure as 17.7 million euros or 19 million dollars.

He has scored 17 goals and provided four assists in 73 games for the club. Yahoo Sports adds that 15 of those goals came in 67 Premier League appearances.

He started Everton's first three matches of the season and recorded an assist in the opening 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. Club sources told The Athletic that Ndiaye behaved professionally throughout the summer.

Contract Standoff and Rival Interest

Ndiaye turned down multiple offers to extend his contract, which The Athletic says had three years left to run. BBC Sport reported that his deal runs until 2029 and that Everton were under no pressure to sell, with manager David Moyes saying: "We're certainly not in a hurry to sell our best players, that's for sure."

BBC Sport put Everton's likely asking price at around 70 million pounds and described Ndiaye as arguably Moyes' most creative player, adding that the forward wants Champions League football. Sky Sports reported only that the fee would have to be right for Everton to sell.

Manchester City had also shown interest in Ndiaye, but are now in talks for Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo. BBC Sport separately reported that City winger Jack Grealish, who spent last season on loan at Everton, would prefer a return to Merseyside. Whether that move happens is not stated in the sources.

Richarlison's Return

Richarlison, a 29-year-old Brazilian, joined Tottenham from Everton in 2022 in a deal worth up to 60 million pounds. He scored 32 goals in 134 appearances for Spurs, having previously scored 53 goals in 152 games for Everton.

Head coach Roberto De Zerbi left him out of the squad for Saturday's 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle United. "Richarlison, I don't know. He said too many times he wants to leave," De Zerbi said.

The Athletic reports that Kevin Danso and Pape Matar Sarr were also left out after asking to leave. Richarlison was Tottenham's top Premier League scorer last season with 11 goals.
