About this job
About Mactores
Mactores specializes in transforming AWS environments for enterprises. Many modernization projects get stuck at the pilot stage or handoff; Mactores ensures seamless production deployment, retiring legacy systems and measuring outcomes. Our work is built on Aedeon, the agent platform developed by the sister company of Mactores' founders, Aedeon Inc. Aedeon streamlines the repetitive 60-70% of engagement tasks, such as discovery, mapping, and validation, allowing forward-deployed engineers to focus on architecture and transition.
About Aedeon
Aedeon is the agent platform designed for enterprise modernization, created by Aedeon Inc., a separate product company founded by the same team that established Mactores. Aedeon converts existing business applications, databases, data platforms, and business rules into governed AI agents, based on a persistent Code Intelligence Graph that is verified through behavior-equivalence proof. Aedeon is delivered as a product, not a service engagement, and operates without the need for mandatory forward-deployed engineers.
This internship will immerse you in Aedeon's platform development: you will assist in building product features on the Aedeon frontend, working closely with senior full-stack engineers to design, implement, and test features. You will gain hands-on experience with a real product serving real enterprise customers.
What You'll Do
Product Development
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design, build, and maintain features across the Aedeon frontend (React + Next.js). - Work with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into functional features. - Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives to foster a product-first mindset.
Learning Release Discipline
- Understand the end-to-end process of feature development, from conception to deployment and post-release validation. - Break down tasks against sprint timelines and address any blockers early. - Observe how the team interacts with DevOps and QA to ensure clean, repeatable releases.
Testing and Quality
- Learn test-driven development by writing test cases before coding, with mentor review. - Contribute to the creation of test cases for features, covering functional flows, edge cases, and regression scenarios. - Gain experience with AI-assisted tools for generating test coverage and automated test suites (E2E, integration, unit) integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
Collaboration and Documentation
- Write clear, well-documented code and submit pull requests for review. - Document your work, test plans, and decisions in Confluence or an equivalent tool, ensuring others can follow your work.
What We're Looking For
Frontend Fundamentals
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (final-year students are welcome). - Proficiency in React.js fundamentals, including components, state, and hooks. - Basic understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript. - Familiarity with Next.js, Git, and modern frontend tooling is beneficial but not required; we will provide training. - No prior professional experience is necessary; relevant personal projects, coursework, or hackathon work are valuable.
Mindset
- A keen interest in understanding how production software is actually deployed, beyond just coding. - Openness to feedback and a willingness to iterate quickly based on it. - A genuine interest in testing and quality assurance, not just feature development.
You'll Be Preferred If You Have
- Experience with AWS services (S3, DynamoDB, Cognito) from coursework or personal projects. - Familiarity with Playwright, Cypress, or other automated testing frameworks. - A GitHub profile or portfolio showcasing your projects.
