What You'll Gain
This is an incredible opportunity to join Remote as a Senior Product Manager, Payroll, focusing on technical depth. You will collaborate closely with the Engineering Team Lead and Staff Engineers, contributing to the technical direction of the product as a peer.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership: Work closely with the Engineering Team Lead and Staff Engineers on architecture and design. Formulate independent technical opinions and actively participate in design reviews.
* Experiment and learn: Develop prototypes and write code to explore ideas, address uncertainties, or deliver small pieces of functionality without defaulting to meetings.
* Ensure API quality: Own products that rely on APIs, designing interfaces, guiding versioning, and maintaining a seamless developer experience for integrations.
* Solve complex problems: Work with specialists and operations teams to identify and resolve issues. Prioritize based on where the most significant pain points lie.
* Full ownership: Be responsible for adoption and maintenance of the product, ensuring its continued relevance and usage over time.
* Collaborate across functions: Engage with payroll and tax experts, coordinate with various teams, and onboard others into the context of the product.
* Clear communication: Document decisions and reasoning through detailed specifications, videos, and proposals, making your thought processes transparent and open to feedback.
Requirements
* Proficiency in Cursor or Claude Code, allowing you to independently build, debug, and deploy functional code.
* Experience in product management within a high-growth company.
* Background in payroll, HR, benefits, fintech, or similar fields.
* Strong strategic and tactical decision-making skills.
* Proven ability to drive product success.
* Expertise in user experience design.
* A passion for solving complex and important problems.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all departments.
* Business-level proficiency in English.
* Remote-friendly mindset (bonus points for remote experience).

Compensation Philosophy
